Financing & Payment Options
Patients at Columbus Ophthalmology Associates can feel confident that they are receiving the highest quality of eye care and vision care. We believe that every patient should have access to this level of care, regardless of their income. However, we realize that some of the treatments and services we provide may not be covered by our patients’ insurance plans. To help our patients fit out-of-pocket costs into their budgets, we offer a number of payment and financing options.
Fees and Payment Policy
At the time of your appointment, we will collect any necessary co-payments. Please reschedule your visit if you are unable to make your co-payment.
We accept payment via cash, checks, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Please bring your picture ID and insurance card to every appointment. It is common for medical insurance companies to require pre-authorization for services. Please work with your insurance company or primary care physician to obtain pre-authorization before your appointment with us.
Can I Pay Online?
Yes. It is our goal to make paying for top-quality eye and vision care as convenient as possible for our patients.

Is My Treatment Covered by Insurance?
Procedures that are deemed not medically necessary, or elective, are rarely eligible for insurance coverage. However, our patients who incur out-of-pocket costs still have options. We accept funds from FSA, HRA, and HSA accounts, and we also work with CareCredit®, a trusted medical lender.
Medical Financing Options
With CareCredit®, our patients are able to select the payment plan that works best for them. Many CareCredit plans offer no up-front costs, a range of monthly payment options, no annual fees, and no prepayment penalties.
What Can I Finance?
Our patients can use CareCredit to finance any and all eye care and vision services and treatments we provide. This includes:
- LASIK and other Vision Correction Procedures
- Cataract Surgery
- Advanced Intraocular Lenses (IOLs)
- Dry Eye Treatments
- Eyelid Surgery
- Routine Exams
- Co-Pays and Uncovered Expenses
FSA, HRA, and HSA Accounts
Patients are able to use funds from a FSA (Flexible Spending Account), HRA (Health Reimbursement Account), or HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay for out-of-pocket costs. Money from these employer-sponsored accounts is tax-deferred and is specifically designated for healthcare expenses.
