Our Founder and Former President, Dr. Orlando retired in January 2020. Below is the letter he sent to all of his patients when he announced his decision. All patients of Dr. Orlando are welcome to continue their care with one of COA’s other doctors. Please call our office, and we will be happy to make you an appointment.

A Letter From Dr. Orlando:

It has been a privilege and honor to restore and preserve the sight of so many wonderful people. I have also been blessed to work with so many dedicated and caring professionals throughout my career to whom I am forever grateful.

I am humbled to have been able to impact so many lives in a positive manner, and I have always kept my patients’ wellbeing at the forefront of my thinking. I feel that being a physician is about serving a higher purpose, taking care of a fellow human being during some of their most vulnerable moments. I have learned so much from my patients and shared with them the many joys as well as challenges in managing their unique clinical situations. There is nothing more gratifying than performing surgery to allow someone to see a beautiful sunset, read a book or to gaze into the face of their grandchild. I will miss the special relationship I have had with these people but will keep the memories with me the rest of my life.

Thank you to all that have been part of my journey in medicine these past 40+ years.
